Stepping Up When It’s Hard

Purim HerTorah: Lessons from Esther for Us Today

Featuring Rabbi Katja Vehlow, Darshanit Dr. Miriam Udel, R’ Aliza Sperling, and more

In the Purim story, Esther doubts she has what it takes to save the Jewish people — until she decides to take action anyway.

What can we learn in our own time about stepping up in a time of peril, even when we don’t feel ready or qualified?

Join us as Rabbi Katja Vehlow mines the Megillah and commentaries and Darshanit Dr. Miriam Udel introduces us to irreverent midrashic Yiddish poetry to find the lessons that we need to draw on today… as we encounter a world that needs our voices, ready or not.

Join us? We need to hear from all our voices.

Between Purim and International Women’s Day… let’s lean on the women before us and around us to remind us that we all have something worth saying.

Tuesday, March 11th @ 8:15-9:45pm ET

Come when you can, stay till you can’t. But, come. We have so much to learn from you.

Please invite someone you think might want to be with us, too.

*As always, SVIVAH welcomes all those wishing to be included in a circle of Jewish women. If you want to be with us, we want you with us and welcome. This gathering welcomes learners of all backgrounds. Our diversity is what makes our gatherings richest. Come be with us. We want to learn from you, too.

HerTorah gathers together a diverse community of Jewish women to connect over our shared heritage, explore our collective wisdom, and elevate our communal experience in learning with and from one another.

HerTorah is made possible in part by support of the Aviv Foundation and The Covenant Foundation and inspired by each one of us.

This gathering is made possible by these wonderful sponsors:

This gathering welcomes women* 12+ and learners of all backgrounds.

SVIVAH is dependent on the generosity of those who choose to invest in a powerful community of women. As always, cost should never be a barrier to anything SVIVAH, but if you can, please help us show respect to our speakers/facilitators for their time and expertise.

If you would like to sponsor this gathering in honor or in memory of someone special, email us here.
