The Inequity of the Impact of this Pandemic on Women*: Part II

SVIVAH, The Blue Dove Foundation, and The Gender Equity In Hiring Project are partnering again to gather us for this continued conversation that needs to be happening.

We talked in August and unearthed so much that so many of us were experiencing. Join us once again for a collective conversation among us as women*. We are all experiencing this global crisis in relative isolation, and we are sorely missing the communal processing of this experience.

Whether you were with us in August or not — join us now.

We are thrilled to be joined by Katherine Goldstein, award-winning journalist and expert in the stuggles of the modern working woman*. Katherine’s recent research is dedicated to unpacking the systemic failures of American society that women* have been trained to internalize as their own inadequacies and failings. She is also researching how communities of support develop to combat these system failures. Katherine is the creator and host of the critically acclaimed reported podcast, The Double Shift. You can learn more about her work at www.katherinegoldstein.com.

One of the ways in which we can move through the trauma of this pandemic is to do it together. In conversation with Katherine, we will take a hard look at our own experience of these past ten months, what the media has convinced us about our personal “failures” and their recommended “pathways to success”, and unpack how women* in America are subjected to a system designed to keep our success and thriving elusive to the point of almost unattainable.

We are all experiencing the trauma of this year in our own ways. But we are ALL experiencing its trauma.

Let’s stop blaming ourselves for how we’re feeling. Let’s start naming what’s standing in our way.

It is essential that we come together over this. If this pandemic is going to "set women back for years", we'd better start rallying around each other.  There are feelings of rage and frustration. There are feelings of hopelessness and confusion. There will also be a way through.

Come share. Come listen. Come say check in. As always, we can’t wait to be with you.

Register below for Zoom login. Cost should never be a barrier to participation, but if you can help us show respect to our speakers/facilitators for their time and expertise, we would be so very grateful. www.svivah.org/donate
