We will discuss a story in Tractate Horayot that details a falling-out among community leaders and the contesting of their claims to power and authority. This session is appropriate for learners of all levels/backgrounds.

In this time period between Yom Ha’Shoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) and Yom Ha’Zikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day), we will look at what it means to “remember” an event. How do we “re-member” ourselves? A look at Jewish views on memory and how they can impact our own projects of memory/remembering.

Alesandra Zsiba, Director of the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington at Adas Israel will be sharing her Jewish mindfulness practice focusing on making ourselves ready to be receptive. All levels welcomed to create space to explore the multiple spiritual dimensions of Jewish tradition.
