It’s time to talk about glass ceilings…
Queen Esther: Feminist Hero or Relic of the Patriarchy?
Queen Esther is often held up as a strong and positive role model for Jewish women, for after all, she was a Queen! But, what were Esther's tools in becoming queen? What tools are at a woman's disposal at the time of the Bible, and what tools are available to us today? We'll look at some of the Biblical and Rabbinic sources on Queen Esther, and attempt to understand how she can continue to be inspirational role model for us today.
Join Rabba Yaffa Epstein and Rabbanit Aliza Sperling in an exploration of the Purim story, feminism, and biblical glass ceilings.
This gathering welcomes women* 12+ and learners of all backgrounds.
Svivah is dependent on the generosity of those who choose to invest in a powerful community of women. Suggested donation $18.
