HerTorah: “What’s To Come?” Series: Recondsidering Synagogue
REIMAGINING OUR FUTURE: WHAT COULD OUR JEWISH WORLD LOOK LIKE POST-COVID?
Living through a pandemic has brought many changes to our lives and to the ways we relate to our Jewish traditions + institutions. What are some of the Jewish ritual + institutional changes that have unfolded during these times? How did those changes open up new opportunities in thinking about what our Jewish world + practice might look like?
Join us as we think and learn together about what our post-Covid Jewish world might look like.
As always, the conversation won't be complete without you at our table. We want to be together with you. Tell a friend or family member to join in -- we would love to meet her, too!
Everyone’s talking about it. What will life be like post-pandemic? What will we return to? What will we do differently? What’s to come?
We’re learning from two remarkable spiritual leaders – Rabbi Shira Stutman of Sixth & I and Rabbi Lauren Holtzblatt of Adas Israel – who will be in conversation with Rabbanit Aliza Sperling about something near and dear to their hearts – The Synagogue. What will become of the synagogue as we return to communal life?
Come share your thoughts on the impact of this time away from synagogue. The doors to our synagogues were closed for so long – should they remain that way? Have we seen new doors open? We look forward to talking this through together with you.
HerTorah gathers together a diverse community of Jewish women to connect over our shared heritage, explore our collective wisdom, and elevate our communal experience in learning with and from one another.
HerTorah is directed by Rabbanit Aliza Sperling, made possible in part by funds granted by the Covenant Foundation & the Aviv Foundation, presented in partnership with Maharat, and inspired by each one of us.
This gathering welcomes women* 12+ and learners of all backgrounds.
SVIVAH is dependent on the generosity of those who choose to invest in a powerful community of women. As always, cost should never be a barrier to anything SVIVAH, but if you can, please help us show respect to our speakers/facilitators for their time and expertise. www.svivah.org/donate
